Bluesman Otis Taylor gives one of his rare performances in Oslo March 11, at Club Cosmopolite. It has been three years since he's been here last, and the show in Oslo will be his only performance in Norway (on this Europe tour). Otis Taylor is one of the most original performers of contemporary blues, and he has a very recognizable and personal style. Down Beat magazine considers him "the most relevant blues artist of our time", and the readers of Living Blues selected him "Entertainer of The Year" in 2004. He has also been nominated several times for Blues Music Awards, but so far he has only received the prize for "Best Instrumentalist - banjo" - an instrument he has "re-invented" for modern blues. Taylor is again nominated for this year's Blues Music Awards in several categories, and it will be a surprise if he does not get a prize for "Best Singer" or "Songwriter" in contemporary blues. Otis Taylor has, since his debut in 1997, released ten critically acclaimed albums with original songs of power and intensity.
